I was honored to be the wedding officiant for Melissa and Justice’s wedding at the rustic and quaint Sparcio’s Maple Valley Farms in Bridgeton, NJ. The weather might have been less than ideal, but nothing could dampen the spirits of our intrepid couple as they tied the knot inside the barn before their most cherished family and friends.

I loved meeting them, and our initial meeting ended up running really long because we couldn’t stop chatting about the passions we share: music, Cape May and Sunset Beach, and more. They told me the story of how bad weather could have possibly impacted their engagement, but that they pushed through and despite not getting the sunset at Sunset Beach they had hoped for, Justice popped the question anyway. Melissa said the overcast sky didn’t matter to her at all because Justice is the light of her life (queue the “Awwww” here). So, it was oddly fitting that we kept dancing back and forth between the outdoor ceremony space and indoors, watching the storm clouds rolling in and dodging the rain as it fell on everyone trying to move things into the barn.

It was great to see and work with Terry from DJs Available Sound and Light Entertainment again, too. I did so many weddings with him when I was a photographer and we always had a good time, so it was great knowing that I had a fellow seasoned (ahem) professional helping with the logistics and giving our couple a great experience. It just added an extra little element of fun to an already great wedding celebration.

I was happy to work with Carly Vous Photography, who was always in the right place at the right time to make sure she was capturing the story of Melissa and Justice’s wedding day celebration. I found out from the couple that Carly later took them back to the farm, in much better weather, to do a photo shoot in their wedding day clothes. That is the hallmark of someone who truly cares about their couple’s experience, and who goes above and beyond to ensure the couple is happy with the images they will treasure forever of their wedding celebration.
